Really loved the first game, still liked the second. However, for the steeper price I expected a bit more. The game is more of the same for the first half, the levels are less impressive than the first games'. After a while there are some new and interesting concepts being introduced, but they were too little, too late. I am expecting a new part "soon" with more of these new concepts in it, but therefore, it feels as if UsTwo deliberately saved the best part for another part for some "easy cash". Full Review

MV1 was a superb game, brilliantly realised. This sequel I had great expectations of but was a little disappointed. Some levels were rather short, one or two exceptionally so. There were some new ideas, again well done but in essence it was like an expansion pack. There did not seem to be the complexity of before and often a level was a one trick wonder, repeated, with little of the creativity and cleverness of design I was hoping for. Still worth playing but it is always hard to live up to something as good as MV1. Full Review

This is an amazing game in many respects. In most of them, this is a step forward over MV1 - better sound design, great levels, more mechanics to play with. However, the narrative is a letdown - there is no real meaning in progression, the levels do not reflect the plot. MV2 has the variety, but MV1's coherence in storytelling make it a better experience overall. Full Review

As a work of art and design, it's absolutely gorgeous and brilliant. As a puzzle, it's not nearly as challenging as the first Monument Valley. I think the designers forgot it was a puzzle game. Also, there's no indication ahead of time of how many levels there are, which unnecessarily adds to the disappointing sense that it's too short when the last level is surprisingly done. All this did not prevent me from playing through twice, though. If you have not played the first Monument Valley, I highly recommend starting with this shorter and less challenging edition, and then getting the first one. Fans of the first one will not want to miss this new edition, so I recommend it, as long as you are forewarned that it's beautiful and imaginative, but shorter and less challenging as a puzzle. I was on the list anxiously waiting while all the Apple people got their hands on this first. I'm a huge fan of the first game and this sequel is a massive disappointment. 1. The sound effects aren't as polished. 2. It has more levels but they are so easy the game is considerably shorter. One of the levels you literally walk from point A to point B and that's it. 3. It does fill in the gaps in story from the original and has some very cute moments. So that's a plus. Overall this game is not worth the money. Full Review

This is bitterly disappointing. It is less challenging that its predecessor. As a fan of the first, this sequel is very sorely lacking in pushing the idea forward. The whole game is just linear clicking. A beautiful visual spectacle but way too easy and not enough challenging. What a missed opportunity. Full Review

I bought this game today and finished it. I was hooked on the first one and was hooked with this one. The graphics are stunning and beautiful. This was a little bit of a challenge as I had to think logically with some of the moves. It took me a while to figure it out but eventually got them. It was well worth the money I spent. I will play this one over and over again. Absolutely loved it. Full Review

So good. Totally addicted to the game series. We need Monument Vally 3 and maybe 4. With an even better story to it. With Ro, Her daughter and Ida, and all the other gods that we saw in the reunion. And some additional characters to make a great story Full Review

Aesthically superior to the first one, but falls short in terms of gameplay. Puzzles were far too easy and the content wasn't enough to make up for it. The "story" also seems to be rather non-existent this time round. The game is however, beautifully designed with tons of creativity put into the game. Still a 5 star game despite its flaws; looking forward to future dlcs for the game Full Review

Really enjoyed the first game because it started easy and built up the difficulty. Unfortunately this game forgets we have played it before and starts back at the simple stuff. It's so slow I've got bored and can't be bothered to see if it gets better. Now I've finished it, wish I'd saved my money to be honest. Far to arty farty and not enough game. The story is puke inducing as Well. Full Review

I have no idea why this game is getting such a bad rep, it's great. It does everything a good sequel should do, up the stakes with new types of puzzles, shows more of world and expands the plot and characters, and stays true to the original. I even liked the visuals much more in this one, it's heartbreakingly beautiful, you can see the love and care put into each one of these levels. The only negatve I can put out there is that it's a little too easy in some parts but I believe that was in response to how difficult to the point of annoyance the last game was. Difficulty is a hard thing to balance, especially in a puzzle, and given how good the rest of the game was I'll be happy to give it a pass. My only other complaint was how short the game was. That may be valid but it is also indicative of how good the game was, since I was left wanting more. All in all it was a great experience and I'm happy to recommend it to anyone who was happy with the first one. Full Review

Not nearly as fun as the original. No actual puzzle elements exist in this game, just wait times and transitions where new things appear. It's more like an experimental experience game than it is a puzzle game. The interesting ideas that were in the game were not used as well as they could have been as they were always only seen for one level. Really disappointing. Full Review

I can't give MV2 anything less than 5 stars because it is still one of the best games I've ever played. It would only lose a star in comparison with its superior predecessor. I loved the new puzzle types, especially the light puzzles. I, too, thought it was too short and the puzzles were easier than I remember from the first game. My main complaint, however, is that the narrative was not nearly as evocative as the first. The growing of a child is a sweet story, but the narrative in the first game was a journey of grief, guilt, and forgiveness, a much more complex story. The emotions it evoked were real, whereas MV2 evoked only recognition of the symbolism: I too am a parent and this journey is like my journey! Still, this game is fantastic on all merits. I look forward to a more emotional story again in the next installment. Devs, creative team, you're doing a fantastic job. I'll buy every new story you make. Full Review

I had high hopes, but it is far easier than the original. Many of the levels seem to be to promote the story rather than being actual puzzles. Others are intuitive meaning you can wonder from one end to the other without having to think at all. It looks very nice, but the small number of levels, and speed at which they can be completed led time feeling short changed. Full Review

Honestly, it's a delightful little game but I can't help feeling somewhat underwhelmed. The first game was short, but it had enough depth and challenge to make repeated plays worthwhile. This sequel had some great new ideas, but the story was much less intriguing, and it was all too easy. Even the last level, which was a little more challenging than the rest, was nowhere near as complex as some of the levels in the first game. So while still a lovely experience, it felt far less satisfying than the original. Still worth getting and playing through once or twice, but I really hope the developers add more levels to this in the future - I'd happily pay for an expansion if it added more depth and challenge to the overall experience. Still, a great game in itself and worth the money - I just felt like there should have been more to it. Full Review

This game deserved a 5 star similar to its previous version. Many people think that the gameplay was too short and the puzzles were too easy. However, people simply ignore a far greater lesson in this game, a story about a fretting mother that had to go through, worrying her child growing up in this world. This reflect us back in real life that our mother took care of us when we're small and it's our turn to look after them when they're old. I must said that my money are well spend on this game. Beautiful art, storyline and background music that never seen before. Kudos to the developer and wishing them all the best for future of Monument Valley. Full Review

I was getting amazing vibes of the previous game, it felt like the child follow mechanic and others added to this game felt like they built on their previous idea. It set up this great adventure that would be as good as monument valley one and more. It felt amazing to make the symbols at the end of a level and gave it a personalized feel. Then they took the follow mechanic away and spit the characters in two. Every time they into diced a new idea it was thrown away before the puzzles could get intersting. And then it was over. Right when I felt like it was just getting started. In short it's a beautiful, calm, relaxing puzzle game that's story focused but the puzzles are dissapointing and don't take much thought and it ends way to early. This isn't worth 5 dollars but is on Par with the 2 of the previous game and I would honestly have preferred to pay 2 for this game and 5 for the previous one. Monument valley one has more content and more puzzles but is somehow worth less. The story gives you feel good moments but us uninteresting as it has been told many times in better ways. This game is more of a spectacle than anything else. Full Review
